About NetKnuckleHead

Who is The Netknucklehead?

My name is Randal and I am a 50+ year-old Internet business owner. Unfortunately, I’m still a cubicle dweller in the corporate world as well. But that is going to change.

My J.O.B. Background

I’ve always had an interest in technology. I remember being completely fascinated by the first computer I ever owned – a Radio Shack TRS 80. Due to a desire to learn how to create a game for that little P.O.S., I decided to become a computer programmer.

But my career path led me into the corporate world and I never did learn how to create computer games. Instead, I programmed mainstream company applications – accounts payable, payroll, HR, etc.

Over the years I held a variety of technology positions: computer operator,  programmer, project manager, IT manager and Assistant Director.

In 2003 I had the pleasure of experiencing my first ever job cut when my Assistant Director job was eliminated. That experience was my wake-up call and made me realize the importance of controlling your own destiny, which is what I’m working on today.

My Internet Experience

I first became interested in the Internet in 1997. I started dabbling in website design and volunteered to redesign a church’s website. They were happy with the results and I was proud of my efforts. That experience gave me the confidence to start my own Internet business in 1998.

After several years of designing websites for others, I decided to shift my focus to affiliate marketing and I began earning my first money online via Adsense in the early 2000′s. What a great feeling it was to see those first few clicks.

Since then, I have made money using a variety of methods including white hat, grey hat, and yes – a little darker shade of grey too. I’ve seen what works and what doesn’t. I’ve come to know who to listen to and who to ignore.

So Why NetKnuckleHead?

My intent with this blog is two-fold: First, I want to document all my efforts on the journey to online wealth. I want to show the reader what I’m working on, what strategies I’m using, and how much money I’m making.

Secondly, I want to help you, the reader, to learn from my mistakes. I have made soooo many over the years. Looking back, I wish I would have had someone to follow during my trials and tribulations. And I think it’s safe to say there are more mistakes in my future! Hopefully, they won’t be expensive ones.
