As I sit here on a late Sunday afternoon in chilly Minnesota, I got three things on my mind. (Well, I actually have more than just three things but you probably wouldn’t find all the other stuff very interesting.) So, here goes:
1. Fiverr Scam: In case you haven’t heard of Fiverr.com before, it is a site where you can pay $5.00 and get practically anything you can think of done – an article, new Facebook fans, help with a difficult decision, a video made with a bird holding a sign containing your company message (I’m not kidding about the bird video by the way), etc.
I know there are lots people wondering if Fiverr is a scam and at this point, I would have to say ‘the jury is still out’. The reason I say this is I submitted a request to someone for a 400 word article about horse saddles. Here is the winning advertiser I picked:
“All articles will be between 300 to 400 words. Written in perfect English Grammar. Keyword density between 4 to 6 times mentioned in the article. All articles WILL PASS copyscape. If the articles fail to pass copyscape or if you have problems with the articles, we will redo the articles and make them pass copyscape and match your needs, however if you no longer wish to use our services, you will be provided a refund for the number of article.”
And here are the instructions I provided:
“Please write 400 word article using the keywords below. I want to limit keyword phrase usage to no more than 2-3 times within the article. Also weave in some of the saddle types and brand names below but make sure it reads “naturally” and does not feel “forced”. You don’t have to use all the saddle types or brand names – just whatever will work. Thank you.”
And here is the first paragraph of the article I received back:
“The era of globalization has about to progress for better living. Many of people either personal or business have prepared for the worst. Each of them has prepared for earlier prevention against any condition that may influence their existence especially those in relation of financial support. Whether we realize or not, money has become one of the important things to maintain for continuity. Everything that offers on the market is asking for money as payback. If you don’t have sum, nothing can do. Instead of getting what you need, you have to press your feeling for just staring behind. But, such conception is doesn’t decide your whole happiness to pursue. There are still lots of choice you can find on the environment that affordable as well as safety to drive.”
Do you see any mention of ‘horse saddles’ at all? How do you like that “perfect grammar” he advertised? Needless to say, I was not happy at all and I left some very negative feedback. However, I decided to give Fiverr.com one more chance. I paid for a gig to have someone add 200 fans to my brother’s and my new Facebook page featuring our recently launched website, Horse Saddle Talk. So far I haven’t received any communication from the individual so at this point, I’m not real confident I will receive what I paid for. (Let me know what you think of the Horse Saddle site if you visit it.)
** 5/17 Update **
I wrote a new post on my Fiverr experience in which I revised my opinion of Fiverr and gave it a thumbs up.
2. Niche Profit Course by Chris Guthrie: After going back and forth a 100 times, I decided to try the Niche Profit Course which focuses on selling Amazon products. Chris does a good job in his pre-sell videos of tempting you with illusions of making lots of money. Honestly, there is not very much new stuff in the course that I didn’t already know, however, he does show a couple of his money-making sites which I find useful. I’m going to give it a go and if it doesn’t work, I will ask for a refund. Stay tuned for future updates.
** 5/17 Update **
I did end up getting a refund for the Niche Profit Course. In my opinion, there was not enough new material, techniques, and strategies to justify the cost. I can not recommend this course.
3. The Millionaire Fastlane by MJ Demarco: Honestly, this is probably the best, most inspirational, most influential book I have ever read. And trust me – I’ve read A LOT of these type of books. The author’s writing style is informal and straight-to-the-point with a ‘no holds barred’ approach. It is very refreshing to hear someone tell it like it is. And why wouldn’t he – he doesn’t need to sell any copies of this book. HE’S A FREAKIN’ 30-something year old (retired) millionaire. If you are the least bit interested in business, in making money, and doing it the RIGHT WAY, click that Millionaire Fastlane image located at the top right of this page (or click HERE) and buy this book. Or if you don’t want to use my affiliate link, then go to Amazon and find it and buy it. Trust me, you will not regret it. It is THAT good.
That’s all for now. I guess I should go fire up the snowblower. They’re predicting 10-15 inches by the time this storm is done. Don’t you wish you lived here?

Saving time more difficult than thought. Must work own self it seems (lol)
Anyhow, thanks for the heads up and good luck with the saddle blog, looks great. The last saddle I bought was an E Jefferies and I loved it – Not a western style though.
