I read a forum post recently where the poster said something about how it seemed like there were an awful lot of new products suddenly coming out. I had noticed the same thing. By the way, some people call new products “shiny objects”. As in, we can’t resist all these shiny new objects. We have to grab one like a curious baby. This is exactly why people lose focus on the Internet.

I decided to do a case study using a new product called “My Online Income System” (MOIS) by Kim Hoffman. Actually MOIS is not exactly new having first appeared on the Internet landscape in 2008 as version 1. Version 2 of the product was recently released in 2009. The reasons I decided to do an MOIS case study are:

• I LOVE trying out new money-making products obviously.
• I noticed MOIS at the top of several marketer’s recommended products list.
• Curiosity.

I will be documenting my findings over the next few weeks. I haven’t decided yet if I will post all the results on this blog or share it with my newsletter subscribers only. Buying At The Right Price (plus a secret)

First, I navigated over to the MOIS homepage to find out the cost of the product. I rarely read the salesletter first so I immediately moved down to the bottom of the page to find the price – $47. By the way, I was doing this from work – don’t tell my boss.

Before I could complete my purchase, something came up (maybe my boss walked in) and I tried to navigate away from the page. As soon as I attempted to, a window popped up announcing a special “Family and Friends” discount to $17. Wow, thanks Kim! I’m not sure if I’m a family member or a friend of Kim’s but I’ll take the discount nonetheless. But there’s more….I got an even greater discount by using a money-saving secret not everyone is aware of. Sorry but this secret is available to Newsletter subscribers only. (Sneaky, huh?)

After I completed my payment for MOIS, I was redirected to a one-time offer (OTO) page. According to the OTO, I could upgrade my purchase to VIP status and receive 5 additional ways of making money from home plus a few other bonuses. The cost to upgrade was $27. I decided to go for it since it would (1) give me more of a chance to make money, and (2) make for a more thorough case study. So my total so far is $17 + $27 = $44 – still less than the original $47 price. But remember my secret method? Well, I actually paid less than $20.

The Course

I made my way over to the MOIS members area after receiving my registration details via email. The first thing I noticed upon arrival was how nicely the site was laid out. The colors are pleasing, the graphics are relevant and smart, and the layout is intuitive. Overall, it is nicely done.

I will end part 1 of the “My Online Income System” case study here. Part 2 will pick up where we left off and will get into my impressions about the subject matter and the level of knowledge being targeted. I will also give you an update as to how I decided to use the course.
