REAL Men of Integrity – Not So Much

Category : General

One thing that REALLY “sticks in my craw” is someone who pretends to be a person of integrity but acts otherwise. This trait especially irks me when the person is a coach who is supposed to be a leader, a father figure, a molder of young men (and women). There are 3 coaches who have demonstrated not so great integrity this year and for that, I am nominating them for THE NETKNUCKLEHEAD REAL MEN OF INTEGRITY AWARD.

Congratulations, Lame Kitten, Lester “the liar” Miles, and Mark “Trash Talking” Mangino!

Kitten: When asked last Thursday about the arrests of three other players in an alleged attempted armed robbery, Kiffin said, “We made it 11 months and 11 days without any incidents.”

“When I said ‘incidents’, the conversation was dealing with arrests and we had not had any arrests in 11 months and 11 days,” Kiffin said Wednesday.

Miles: “When reporters asked Miles which coach decided to try to spike the ball before the clock restarted rather than going for a field goal, he said he wasn’t yet sure and would have to find out.”

Really, Lester???

Mangino Player: “I dropped a pass and [Mangino] was mad,” Brown said. “And I said, ‘Yes, sir. Yes, sir.’ The yelling didn’t bother me. But then he said, ‘Shut up!’ He said, ‘If you don’t shut up, I’m going to send you back to St. Louis so you can get shot with your homies.’ I was irate. I wanted to hurt him, to be honest with you.”
